We just got home this afternoon from our 1st camp-out of '09. What a fun one it was, exciting to say the least. We left Tuesday as soon as Dylan got out of school at 11am, no wait that was the plan, I don't think we actually got out of town till 3:15 LOL. When you are camping there are so many things you have to plan and get ready for, and things don't normally happen as you have scheduled. Well we made it to the coast got camp set up and enjoyed dinner. Unfortunately because of hectic schedules not every one was able to come for the whole 6 days. But we had lots of company in and out the whole week. We had lots of family fun time, fishing, bike riding, walks, camp fires, ranger children's programs, playing at the park and a trip to the aquarium. Dylan became a Jr. Ranger during our trip, he had to do 4 projects which included safety, history, wildlife, and go to a ranger program. All three big kids enjoyed the Ranger led activities, we were able to attend two, one about Butterflies and the other was about slugs. The kids also got to fish in the annual fishing derby at the lake, where they got to paint tee-shirts, and were served lunch. For the most part the weather held out, we had some thunder storms and showers at night time, then during the day it was cloudy, sun and in the 60's. We ran home on Friday to go to my our oldest nieces Graduation, then went back to the coast to finish our camping trip.
Staying warm by the fire.
